Who are we?
The team was conceived in September 2002, when Leaders, Scouts, Explorers and Fellowship members alike decided to set up a specialised Fellowship unit that would provide mountaineering, hillwalking and climbing activities to all sections of the movement, expeditions/trip's for its members, but also mountain leadership training and advice to those interested. Since September 2002, the team has successfully managed to get over 400 people out in the UK's hills and mountains, many of which had never been hillwalking before.
What can we offer?
As well as offering at least 3-4 trips per annum, the team can assist all sections of the movement with running, supervising and advising on mountainous activities. Included in its membership are Mountain Leader (Summer) trained and qualified leaders but also leaders who have Adventurous Activity Permits in Hillwalking and Climbing. Our qualified leaders can supervise and lead mountainous activities in the UK, Europe and USA and are available to Groups, Districts and Units to help run these adventurous and exciting activities. In addition, the team also has qualified Duke of Edinburgh's Award Expedition assessors and trainers; these are also available to groups.
